Health and sanitation is one of our focus areas, and of the utmost importance for increased development. Diseases due to poor sanitary conditions are common in Tanzania. Waterborne diseases are particularly widespread. Clean water, well-functioning toilets, mosquito nets, good nutrition and health education play a major role, and they also contribute to increased attendance in the schools.

Poor sanitary conditions cause the spreading of diseases. The school’s lack of toilets is a contributing factor, which especially affects girls.
